The perfect warm up to Orange's weekly 'Film To Go' title
Acclaimed actor, writer and master of wit, Peter Serafinowicz, is to host a lively and interactive film based discussion show, streamed exclusively through Orange Film Club on Facebook every Thursday at 2000hrs.
‘Orange Film Night Live’ gives film lovers a chance to discuss, dissect and debate the weekly Orange Film To Go, which allows customers to download a film every Thursday from iTunes, at no cost.* The show will also feature a host of special guests, interviews and exclusive competitions.
Peter Serafinowicz and his co-host, Empire’s resident film expert Chris Hewitt, will be inviting more than 39,000 fans of Orange’s ‘Film Club’ Facebook page to join with them to discuss that week’s title (previous week’s films have included The Wrestler and Che: Part One) – chipping in with their comments, likes and dislikes via the live web chat.
Peter Serafinowicz, host of Orange’s Film Night Live said: "I’m a massive movie buff, so getting to talk about films for 30 minutes every week on Orange Film Night Live is a great opportunity for me to get my geek on with a load of film fans. Who doesn’t like a bit of movie-based Facebook banter of a Thursday evening? Orange Film To Go has a load of great films coming up for customers to download so I’m sure they’ll be plenty for Chris and I to amuse ourselves (and hopefully others) with over the coming months.”

Live Streaming
The Audio stream is captured and edited (live) by Soho Square Studio, the audio is encoded at the studio on a dedicated machine, and pushed to a media server through a dedicated line, The stream is then optimised and dispatched to a cloud system, making it available through multiple edge servers - The Facebook application retrieves the audio stream from one of those servers.
FaceBook App
The FaceBook application makes full use of the push server technology, allowing realtime update for comments, rich media content, and notifications. The user can comment directly with either the Orange Film Club team or Peter Serafinowicz and his guests. All interaction between the users and the team in the studio is done through purpose built tools allowing moderation and live aggregation of comments through keywords and #tags. A live CMS allows the team to update the player with rich media content.
